Hi – I’m Jim, an NCPS Accredited Therapist (and Coach) online; UK-wide and in person in Blackpool and surrounding areas. Overwhelm happens to us all. If you’re exhausted by overthinking, burnout, or daily stress, you’re in the right place. I integrate CBT and REBT to keep things practical, logical, and tailored to you. I hold a deep passion for neurodiversity, ensuring different processing styles feel truly seen and accommodated without needing to mask. I help clients systematically manage anxiety, stress, overwhelm, burnout, OCD, relationships, emotions and social challenges.

Who is Jim?

After 20 years working in a fast – paced technical industry, managing, coaching & mentoring people, I retrained in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) as I believe that everyone can find the time to pause, reflect and look internally to enable us to be the best version of ourselves. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and helping them work towards their goals. I also have experience of sitting on the client side of the room and therefore completely understand how you may be feeling about starting therapy, after all, I am a human too!

I am experienced, qualified, non-judgemental, compassionate, straight-talking, and I keep things simple. If you are reading this, you are looking for support, so why would I not aim to keep things as straightforward as possible when helping you? I can work alongside you, either in person or online, to explore where you are now and identify the goals that will help you move forward.

My clients are varied and brilliant. I work with women who are experiencing overwhelm and want to be heard more in life; men who struggle to talk about how they feel; individuals with sexual problems or gender identity challenges; neuordivergent individuals; companies that know where they want to go but don’t know where to start the journey; people who want to make specific changes to the way they live; and students who need support on their journey through academia. The list is endless; however, they all achieve the same objective—meeting their goals by making the changes required. Working together, we can help you identify the changes that need to be made, whether small or large, to create a real impact.

I will work with you to build a bespoke treatment plan based on your needs and goals. This plan is underpinned by a blend of psychotherapy called Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT/CBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC). My training and experience across both areas enables me to integrate them smoothly into my work, alongside other appropriate therapeutic interventions. REBT is a highly effective form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that looks at the whole person rather than just their symptoms. Humans are naturally goal-directed, but we can also be self-defeating and irrational. Most people are unaware that many of their thoughts about themselves are irrational, negatively affecting how they behave in relationships and situations. These thoughts can result in unhealthy negative emotions and self-destructive behaviours. Ultimately, REBT recognises that our cognitions, emotions, and behaviours are all connected—interacting and influencing each other. It focuses on helping you challenge these irrational beliefs so you can learn to manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours in a healthier, more realistic way.
